Misty Posey is a high soprano, singer-songwriter whose ethereal vocals cross into an enchanting realm inspired by nature, fantasy movies, and times long ago. She wrote half of the songs on her first album, creating her own Celtic Classical Crossover sound with her signature songs “When the Wind Blows” and “Come Along to the Enchanted Forest,” and she released a second album of traditional Irish and Scottish songs for her patrons. Misty sings in Gaelic, English, and Latin, and she plays Irish harp, shruti box, and her own Native percussion instruments, all of which can be heard on her upcoming releases.
Live performances have earned Misty a trio of nicknames from “Opera-girl” to “Texas’ Celtic Woman,” to “Celtic Songstress.” She toured with her band Voice + Harp and has been a soloist for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Advent Lutheran Concert Series, Classical Crossover Magazine, O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, and she has performed as many Disney princess look-a-likes. Festival appearances include Scots Fest Arkansas, Mount Dora Scottish Highland Festival, Sherwood Forest Celtic Yuletide Festival, Tacoma Spring Fairy Festival, Decatur Celtic Festival, and North Texas Irish Festival.
Christmas 2022 marked Misty’s debut as a film score composer for the BMG-Global release, “O’ Holy Knight!”, and she is the winner of the 2023 Arkansas Scots Fest Celtic Poetry Contest. Misty released the single “In the Mountains” in collaboration with instrumental composer, Max Humphrey, and they have more collaborations coming up. Misty serves as the Gaelic Singing Director at the North Texas School of Irish Music, as vocal instructor at O’Flaherty Irish Music Youth Camp, and songwriting instructor at The Christian Arts Collective.
